The Aclara Metering Transponders for Itron CENTRON® residential and SENTINEL® C&I electric meters integrate the features of the Itron meters with the TWACS® two-way fixed network power line communication system. The transponder modules are installed under the meter covers and provide remote access to total consumption, peak demand and hourly interval data by utilizing the superior accuracy of the Itron meters. Four optional ports can be provided on the residential transponder to accommodate up four external devices. (Water, gas, etc.) Remote demand reset is done over the TWACS channel. A suite of software applications are available to support TWACS functionality, such as integration, outage notification, graphical interface, high-volume reads, and connect/reconnect.
