Overview

The OPS9243 is a complete traffic monitor for detection of pedestrians, bicycles, or vehicles. The sensor provides motion detection for lighting solutions or traffic flow statistics for vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians. A simple configuration sets the sensor detection mode. Object counts and speed statistics are provided every 15 minutes or at a configurable time. The sensor can detect pedestrians up to 20m/65 ft. away and vehicles as far as 100m/328 ft. The 20 degree (horizontal) x 24 degree (vertical) field of view is 3m/10 ft. to 20m/65 ft. wide, covering 2-4 lanes of vehicle traffic. Utilizing millimeter wave radar technology, the OPS9243 can provide extremely accurate speeds (+/-1.6 km/h or +/-1 mph) while not invading privacy.
